Nestled in the southwestern state of Karnataka, India, lies the city of Belagavi, a bustling metropolis that serves as the administrative headquarters of the district. This city is on the brink of a transformative journey, emerging as a major hub for trade and commerce in Karnataka. From thriving industries to top-notch healthcare and education facilities, Belagavi offers a promising landscape for both small businesses and large enterprises. In this blog, I am sharing my experience on my recent travel to the city of Belagavi.

Day 1: Arrival and First Impressions

As the clock struck 11:30 am, I set out to Belagavi from my home in Pune. The journey was smooth, spanning a distance of 340 km, and by 7:30 pm I reached Belagavi. I found myself a good stay at UK 27 Hotel in Ayodhya Nagar. This area in located at city centre and is well connected to rest of the city.

Day 2: Unveiling the Residential Tapestry

Venturing out at 10:00 am, I learned that the city awakens later than most, with shops and malls opening their doors around this time. Belagavi boasts an array of upscale residential areas, including Hanuman Nagar, Tilakwadi, Shahpur, Bhagya Nagar, and Sadashiv Nagar, all within a 10 km radius from the city center. Among the residential properties, UR Casa apartment stood out with its modern amenities and spacious living spaces. Fully furnished apartment rental starts from INR 90,000 to INR 1,80,000 for 2800 sq.ft to 4100 sq.ft sized apartment.

The real estate scene also unveiled options like Vishwaraj Golf Link and Golf Greens, catering to a lower range of budgets between INR 15,000 to INR 35,000. Lease registrations were a breeze, facilitated by the Registration office in Rani Chennamma Nagar. An 11-month lease agreement is notarized on INR 100-INR500 stamp paper and renewed periodically.

Day 2: Gastronomic and Shopping Delights

Belagavi offers a diverse range of dining experiences, from the savory South Indian flavors of Hotel Annapurneshwari to the exotic Thai and Chinese offerings at Galangal. For those craving international fare, familiar names like McDonald’s and Pizza Hut are readily available. Food delivery apps like Swiggy and Zomato are widely used and their service delivery is fast and reliable.

In terms of retail therapy, the city features a mix of supermarkets, with D-Mart, Reliance Fresh, and Big Bazaar being popular choices. Rani Chennabhairadevi Devi Mahila Bazar is a street offering variety of eateries and shops.

Day 3: Exploring Beyond City Limits

A short drive, 32 Km from the city center led me to the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), home to a diverse range of industries, including cement, sugar, textile, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and food processing. This region’s strategic location, connecting Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra, underscores its significance as an industrial powerhouse. The establishment of the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the district has further fueled growth, attracting new business ventures to the region.

City Infrastructure:

Belagavi offers a high quality of life at a fraction of the cost compared to larger cities. The city boasts a robust transportation network, modern infrastructure, and top-notch healthcare facilities. Its airport is located 14 Kms from the city center having daily flights to Mumbai and Bengaluru. The railway station is in the city center and has trains running to almost every state in India. Online cab booking apps like Ola and Uber is widely used by the people and their services are reliable.

Further, I did some research on the basic amenities the city has to offer to person relocating to Belagavi and have put those details down here for everyone’s information.

International Schools:

• KLES International School: The curriculum followed is a mix of Indian and international syllabus

• Jain Heritage School: The syllabus followed here is designed to meet international standards

• Podar International School:  The syllabus focuses on a strong foundation for higher studies in India or abroad.

Hospitals in Belagavi:

• KLE Hospital: KLE Hospital is one of the most famous hospitals in Belagavi known for its quality healthcare services, doctors are specialised in cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, and many more.

• Belagavi Cancer Hospital: Belagavi Cancer Hospital is a dedicated cancer centre. The hospital’s team of oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists are highly qualified and experienced in providing the best care to cancer patients.

• Ashok Hospital: The hospital offers a comprehensive range of medical services, including cardiology, orthopaedics, neurology, and many more. The hospital has state-of-the-art facilities and a well-qualified team of doctors and nurses to provide the best care to patients.

Weekend and other recreational activities for everyone:

• Visit Belgaum Fort and explore its ramparts and gates.

• Gokak Falls is surrounded with beautiful lush green land and beautiful waterfall.

• Experience the nature with its wilderness at Bhimgad Wildlife Sanctuary

• Take a boat ride in the serene Gokak Lake.

• Play golf at the Belgaum Golf Course.

• Horse riding at Sahyadri Horse Riding Club.

• Adventure sports like trekking and rappelling at the Surla Waterfall Adventure Camp.

• Indoor sports like badminton, swimming, volleyball, etc., are played at Club Halli Belgaum
