Kashmir’s culinary offerings are a symphony of flavors. The traditional Wazwan, more than a meal, is a cultural experience. From the aromatic Kashmiri Pulao to the hearty Rogan Josh, every dish is a testament to the region’s rich heritage.
Our stay in the houseboats was a memory to cherish. With modern amenities and a breathtaking view of Dal Lake, it was an extraordinary experience. A Shikara boat ride through the floating market added a touch of whimsy, while sipping on Khawa chai immersed us in the local culture.
Sonmarg, aptly known as “the meadow of gold,” was a nature lover’s haven. Lush green valleys juxtaposed with snow-covered peaks and sparkling streams created a picture-perfect scene. It was a place to trek, camp, and revel in the pure embrace of nature.
No trip is complete without a bit of shopping. The embroidered shawls and unique Kashmiri dresses were irresistible. Each piece told a story, a testament to the craftsmanship and artistry of the locals.
The Mughal Gardens, with their backdrop of majestic mountains and verdant trees, provided a sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation. Each step felt like a stroll through paradise, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon or a romantic picnic.
The Amarnath Yatra, a pilgrimage to the holiest shrine of Lord Shiva, was a spiritual crescendo. Despite the challenging weather conditions, the breathtaking view of snow-capped mountains and the serene Panchtarni campsite were worth every step.
